Boom Camp Sermon Notes
I can never replicate the prescence of God which makes these sermons come alive and bite you where you don't want them to bite you. But I'll try.

Session#1.0
Real.
-Revelation vs. Knowledge
Knowledge is boring stuff like F=ma or GPE=mgh.
These formulas have no difference from "Jesus died for our sins". It's just knowledge.
Revelation is Something that had been in your life RIGHT FROM THE START.
Just that it was covered up. Hence the term "Reveal-lation"
If it had been in your life all the while, and it was covered up by God, waiting for the time
when you're ready. Means it's pretty darn important. (ie The revelation of salvation)
-Persecution
People get SHOT standing up for Jesus. And it's something they receive without question.
Why aren't we standing up for Jesus if all we risk is losing a few friends? (This one got me)
Simply. You can't shine what's not in you. If you're not shining Jesus. He's not in you.
-Faith (Romans 10:10, James 2:14-26) (I was lying on the floor covered in my blood after this)
Believing in your heart is one half of the component of Faith. Doing it is a manifestation of that
Faith and constitutes the other half. There is nothing that can ever replicate this. ONLY
PURE 100% revelation of the word "FAITH" can make you do stupid, impossible things for
Jesus coz you ABSOLUTELY know that you're going to succeed because He's behind you.
-Crying out (Romans 10:14)
Crying out: Make declaration an absolute need
"How can they call upon Him whom they have not believed?"
you believe that God can give you your breakthrough first. then you go pray. Coz if
you don't believe that God can do it, what's the point of asking?
Belief comes before crying out
-Stir (Luke 1:41-45)
You might be pregnant with a vision for the loss. But until you bring it into contact with
the prescence of the Lord. It's going to stay dormant. But...just bring it near Him.
and it's going to leap. it's going to shake. it's going to stir your heart. hunger develops.
becareful.
-Natural->Supernatural
In EVERY single instance where a miracle occured (in the entire Bible) The receipient stepped
out in faith with something in the natural, and God turned it into something supernatural
(ie Moses & Aaron gave their staffs, Elijah & Gideon prepared sacrifices, Jesus took water and
made it into wine, took a lunch and fed a generation.
Same for us. Come out with our natural abilities, and pray that God will make it a miracle
Yes i know what you're thinking. you DO have to step out in faith. No way out.

Session#2.0
Daisy (1 Kings 19:19-21 vs. Matthew 4:20)
-When Jesus called the fishermen to ministry. They left their nets.
When Elijah called Elisha to ministry. He slaughtered his cow and burned his plow & yoke.
When things became tough for the disciples, they went back to fishing.
When things became tough for elisha, he went back to...no wait.
He couldn't go back coz he incinerated his past.
The things which brought him comfort and gave him an identity were destroyed
in the knowledge that the call of God was worth far more than all these things
If you wanna get somewhere. you gotta let go of your baggage holding you back.
Coz Dead cows don't moo.
(That's about it. we spent the rest of the session shredding stuff and jumping on them)

Session#3.0
6 keys to planetshaking power.
God parted the red sea. Someone had to hold the stick
God killed Goliath. Someone had to throw the stone.
Acts 4:23 (A prayer for Boldness)
1: Prayer (Acts 3:1)
Not just "God please save my school" kinda prayer.
On your knees, begging crying out rolling around in the dirt. Yet genuinely believing that He's
gonna do it
2: Possibility (Acts 3:6)
Seeing an oppurtunity in the natural, but believing it in the supernatural.
3: Persecution (Acts 4:1-3)
Getting beaten up for it (yes, God's telling me that i lack in this department)
4: Perception
People's perception of your reaction to #3 (The fun begins from here onwards)
5: Praise
Give credit to God after whatever mass-revival you've just blown up.
6: Power
I lost track at here.

run to me, whenever you're lonely..
"Lean on me, when you're not strong
and i'll your friend, i'll help you carry on
for it wont be long, till i'm going to need somebody to lean on
lean, swallow your pride"
-Lean on me by Al Green
i've been inspired by oldies. and this verse kept popping up in my head today. so i decided to share it here (though i seem to have been updating excessively).
those have been really tired and still having exams on-going (eg me, joanney, flic, and possibly darren), i hope this verse really helps.

the race
hey all,
was looking through my own journal archives and i found this verse dated on 13 october 2004. looks like i was searching for Him even before i got saved.
Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)
"Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ."
press on!

i'll we'll be okay

the week of hell has just passed. well not for all of us. i reckon most of us are in the midst of EVIL exams (everybody repeat after me, EVIL EXAMS, and then go BOOOOO). and there seems to be one word on our minds - STRESS. but that's for a fraction of people. those who truly brought Him around with us this week (including into the REB and the Caulfield Racecourse) will have this one word on our minds - JESUS.
so if you had a choice, which is the one word you'd rather have on your minds 24/7 till the EVIL EXAMS are over?
(answer : ppssstt! CHOOSE JESUS)
everything is gonna be great at the end.
if it's not great, it's not the end yet.

Thank God It's Friday
darren posted something which sparked me to type an entry here as well. anyway, thank you darren for sharing.
yes, it's friday again. "ALREADY?!!" you may say. To those who had SWOT VAC, hopefully you made use of that time to it's maximum. and as for those who didnt, dont worry because we know everything is in His hands.
another month has gone by and it's like flipping through the pages of a diary, but this time it's a calendar. autumn has come and gone. so welcome winter. it's THAT time of the semester, THAT time of the year again..
"i delight in trial and sufferings... for His power is made perfect in my weakness"
ETX1100, AFF1110, BTF1010, ECF1100 - I SHALL OWN ALL OF YOU.
"I will stand here, lost in Your love
I will worship forevermore.."

Stressed? I rocked up to a prayer meeting on sunday, and before it began, my mind started thinking of stuff. stuff. Studies. The H1s which i had to get in order to act cool before my parents. I started believing that I shouldn't have come to this prayer meeting at all, and instead should have spent even more time sitting at home, studying. Then Jesus began singing to me.
He's got the whole world...in His hands.
He's got the whole world...in His hands.
He's got the whole world...in His hands.
He's got the whole world...in His hands.
Such a pointless song. 4 repeated lines of words. Crappy kiddy tune. Even Barney the dinosaur could come up with better songs. But because it was Jesus. Because it was THE KING who sang that song. Because He sang it, out of love. To tell me that He loves me so, and wants my burdens. But Jesus...Why do You want my burdens? Is not Your heart already grieved beyond the point of death? (Mark 14:34)
I want your burdens just so that you won't have to carry them. (1 Peter 5:7)
Pastor Henry was playing guitar during prayer. Busy serving God with both hands occupied and a foot on the pedal. His daughter decided that she really missed daddy, and ran up on the stage, a frantic Pastor Alex trying to stop her. She ran with outstretched arms, desperately wanting a hug from her father. Pastor Henry took his hands off the guitar, his foot off the pedal, knelt down, and carried her in his arms. Wow. What a selfless display of parental affecti.....
Then God Hit me.
I've to make sure the fusion processes at the core of the sun dosent burn too brightly or you'll burn up. I've to make sure that black holes don't become too big and eat you up. I've to make sure that there are just enough stars in the sky for you to marvel, but not to crush the earth into pieces. I've to make sure that rivers flow, and rain falls, and wind blows...and...and...and...all that...coz I Love you so much. Oh please say you love me. Please...Please...alright. Is "Love" too mushy a word? I don't mind if you just say "I Like You God". Please? Or just smile and think about me? I think about you everyday. Won't you think about me just a little? I know...maybe I'll come down to your level and give you a hug. Maybe that'll get your attention...I hope. Hey wait. I love you! I made your blind dad see, and your lame cousin walk. Why are you whipping me? Wait no! Why are you nailing me to that cro...
God knew we were too short to reach up to him. So He came down to our level. just so that we could hug Him. Just one moment with him. Just one moment called life.
Do you know that I Love You guys?
